The short version
- You sign in with an email and password. That account holds your private backup and your spot on the leaderboard.
- Your ratings, notes, prices, and photos are backed up privately. Only you can see them.
- If you choose to appear on the leaderboard, other players see your username and the scores you gave, with the course and how the dog was cooked. They never see your notes, prices, photos, email, or name.
- Your location is used to work out which golf course you're at. Where you are is never shared with other players.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking. We don't sell your data or share it for advertising.
- You can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app, at any time.
Who we are
Glizzy Golf ("the app", "we", "us") is an iPhone app for rating hot dogs at golf course halfway houses, made by an independent developer. This policy explains what information the app collects, why, and what you can do about it.

What we collect and why

Courses you add
If a course isn't in the app's built-in list and you add it yourself, its name and map position are added to a shared course list so other players can find it. That entry keeps your account ID so only you can edit it, but your ID isn't shown to other players.
Things we don't collect
No advertising identifiers, contacts, browsing history, health data, or payment information. The app has no analytics or advertising software built in.
The leaderboard
The Top Dogs leaderboard lists the highest-scoring hot dogs from every player. Each entry shows the username, course name and location, the four scores, the final score (including any cap for boiled or microwaved dogs), how it was cooked, and the date.
You're on the leaderboard by default. To leave, turn off Settings → Profile → Show my dogs on the leaderboard. All your entries are removed at once, and new ratings stay off the board until you turn it back on.
Anyone using the app can see the leaderboard, so don't pick a username you'd want kept private.
Community rules
Usernames and course names you add are visible to other players. There's zero tolerance for objectionable content. Don't use:
- offensive, hateful, sexual, or harassing usernames or course names;
- someone else's name or identity;
- fake, spam, or deliberately misleading ratings.
Any entry can be reported from the "…" menu on the leaderboard, and you can hide a player so you no longer see their entries. We review reports and remove content that breaks these rules, and we may disable accounts that keep breaking them.
How your information is stored
Your data is stored on your phone and backed up to Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Cloud Storage), which hosts the app's servers. Google processes this data only to provide those services, under its own security and privacy terms. Like any online service, Firebase may process technical data such as your IP address to keep sign-in secure.
Data is encrypted in transit. Access rules on the server mean only you can read or change your private backup, and only you can edit or remove your own leaderboard entries.
Your data may be stored and processed in the United States or other countries where Google operates.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as you have the app's account, or until you delete it:
- Deleting a rating removes it from your phone, your backup, the leaderboard, and photo storage.
- Deleting your account (Settings → Delete Account) permanently erases your ratings, courses, photos, profile, leaderboard entries, and the account itself, on your phone and on our servers. It can't be undone.
- Courses you added to the shared list stay available to other players after you delete your account. Email us if you'd like one removed.
- Reports are kept only as long as needed to handle them.
Your choices and rights
- Location, camera, photos, and notifications are all optional and can be turned off in iOS Settings at any time. You can still rate a dog without any of them.
- Leaderboard: opt out in Settings → Profile.
- Edit your profile: Settings → Profile.
- Delete everything: Settings → Delete Account.
- Access or correction: email us, and we'll respond within 30 days.
Depending on where you live (for example California, the EU, or the UK), you may have extra rights to access, correct, delete, or move your data, or to object to how it's used. We'll honor those requests. Email us to make one.
Children
Glizzy Golf isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we'll let you know in the app before it takes effect.
